Nearly back in Blighty
Another scorching hot day here in sunny Scotland. The temperature has been very high again all day with no cloud cover at all. As a result, walking was hard work today but nonetheless we still managed to walk our planned 21 miles. We set off from Dunwoodie Lodge Hotel at 8.30 this morning and followed the B7076 all day. We went through Lockerbie and stopped for lunch in the Station pub in Kirkpatrick Fleming. The final few miles took us down to Gretna Green and we are now only 3 miles from the English border. In total we have now walked 357 miles and we are still amazed at how big Scotland is. Today has been our eighth day of consecutive walking so feet, legs and the rest of our bodies are feeling pretty tired. Only two more days to go to our next break which we are all looking forward to. Thanks Carol and David for the maths challenge; we think the answer is 8 and we worked this out without asking Richard. Are we right? Today's discussion subjects began with the letter ‘O' so we discussed Oxford, oil, oligarchs and oranges. We were going to discuss Opticians but we couldn't see the point (get it?) Please keep your messages coming we really enjoy reading them in the evenings.
