Cotebrook to Prees with David

Another bright sunny day with a few clouds but no rain.  We set off from Cotebrook at 8.30 and took a detour off the A49 through the village of Eaton.  Shortly after rejoining the A49 with met up with David Rimmer a colleague of Nick's during his CompAir days who walked with us through to Bickley Moss.  In their infinite wisdom, Cheshire decided to build very few footpaths so most of the day was spent walking in single file along the edge of the road with dozens of motorcyclists passing at 90 mph.  After a quick stop for coffee in the Chalmondley Arms we headed south for lunch at the Willey Lock Pub.  It was great to have David along and talk about subjects ranging from business to cricket.

We both then continued onto Whitchurch but using the canal towpath not the busy A49.  We were given directions by some kind Australians who also gave a kind donation to the charity.

After Whitchurch it was back to the main roads and back to the A49 to finish in the village of Prees.  It seemed a longer day today and we finished walking at 16.45 a little weary.

Mileage for the day was 22 miles so the total is now 523.
