The Sanders 4, The Rest of the World 2

Today we had the largest number of Sanders yet on the walk together when we were joined by Vikki, Richard and also Katie (Appleby).  It was good to have the family along today to walk with us en route from Prees to Dorrington.  Despite a weather forecast that predicted more or less continuous rain we walked for most of the day in sunshine and only got wet when Vikki, Katie & Richard had left.  Our route for the day was the A49 (again) and Shropshire Council like Cheshire have also adopted a no footpaths policy so we spent some of the day dodging artics etc.

We left Prees at 8.30am and walked through countryside until we reached the Northern side of Shrewsbury where we stopped for an early lunch.   We then followed the ring road and headed off south towards Dobbies the Garden Centre and then Church Stretton.  We completed the walk at 16.00 in Dorrington having covered the planned 21 miles.  At the end, in a rather unlikely position for a small country village was an adult lingerie and accessory shop which we agreed to visit out of curiosity!!

We have now completed 7 of the 11 days in this stint and for the next four days will be joined by a variety of friends to support us which we really appreciate.  Our route tomorrow sees us heading to Ludlow then onto Hereford on Wednesday, Monmouth on Thursday and finishing up Chepstow on Friday.

Today's discussion topics were X-rays, xenophobia and xylophones.

Special thanks to Stacey and her manger at Pizza Hut Meole Brace for their kind support.
