2/3rds Done
Today we have achieved the momentous milestone of being 2/3rds of the way of our epic journey. With only 1/3rd left to go, our spirits are high and confidence building that we will make it to the end on schedule on 4th July. Another day has been spent on the A49 with very little pavement so we have spent most of the day dodging cars and lorries again. After a great night at the Grove Farm House at Condover (thanks to Liz for the hospitality, great food and kind donation) we set off at 8.20am from Dorrington and passed by Church Stretton midway through the morning. The weather has been kind to us again with temperatures not too high and good for walking. We stopped for lunch at the Craven Arms Hotel (not surprisingly at Craven Arms). During the afternoon we were joined by Nick's Cousin Diane and later on i.e. 1 mile before the end by Miranda from Cancer Research UK (hope you're not too tired Miranda!!) We finished the day in Ludlow and had a team drink at the Charlton Arms. We finished walking at 16.00 having completed the requested 22 miles bringing the total up to 556 miles. Thanks to Diane and Miranda for coming to join us. Today's discussion topics were about subjects beginning with ‘Y' which included Yeoman's' Yemen, yachting and yo-yo's. Not one of our better days for discussion items as we knew nothing about any of the subjects. Tomorrow sees us head for Hereford accompanied by a number of friends. Nick & Mike
