One down, forty one to go!!

Our first day's walking is dedicated to Henry, we hope you enjoyed your cheeseburger!!

So all is well and the first 21 miles are complete.  Our journey yesterday saw us arrive in John O'Groats at 15.40.  We took in the sights - the cafe, the tartan shop and the end of the pier - then we checked into the Seaview Hotel.  It's only a small hotel with about 10 rooms however room 10 is now out of commission as at 1.30 this morning, Mike broke his bed.  Apparently all he did was turn over?

At the moment, we are sat in front of a log fire in a house that is 220 years old.  Catherine and Islay have fed us tea and cake and are looking after us all very well.  Apart from a mild case of cramp and some cows who wanted to make friends, there have been no distractions today.

A big thank you to everyone who has posted a message.  When we logged on today it was a big encouragement to see all the well wishes.  In response, Nick send lots of love to everyone at home and Amelia yes, his fitness levels are improving - slowly but surely!
