The day the tops came off!In recent days we have become increasing frustrated with our builders tan i.e. arms and legs only so today we decided to bare (nearly all) and walk with our t-shirts off. This caused a major pile up and traffic on the A38 is still at crawling point. We were told by the Highways Agency it was because of Glastonbury but we don't believe them. However on a positive note, three girls in an ‘X' reg Cavalier did pap their horn in appreciation of the two hunks at the side of the road!! We stayed last night in The Washington Hotel in Bristol which frankly is to be avoided at all costs. However, we did find a decent restaurant up the road called ‘Racks' which made us feel a bit happier. So we were back on the road by 8.30 this morning heading out of Bristol and back on the A38 towards Bridgewater. We passed by Bristol Airport. Because it was very warm today we adopted a 2 pit stop strategy and had lunch at Sidcot before taking an afternoon break at the aptly named Sanders garden centre where we enjoyed tea and cakes (we love you Tess!!). We arrived at junction 22 of the M5 our finishing point for the day just before 5pm having completed 22 miles bringing the total up to 666(!) miles. Our route tomorrow takes us on to Taunton before heading on to Tiverton on Friday (Becca, the best place for you to join us will be on Sunday morning as we head into Okehampton). At the suggestion of Phil (Mike's brother-in-law), we listed our five favourite drinking establishments as; Coconut Grove in Antigua, Raffles Terrace Bar in Singapore, Jemma's Tree house in Tobago, The Green Man in Middleton and The Imperial Hotel Penthouse Bar in Hong Kong.
