Phew, what a scorcher!!After a hot day yesterday, it got hotter and more humid today followed this evening by a massive thunder and lightning storm (never trust the BBC weather forecast). It's good to know that the annual Glastonbury weather has prevailed. Today we started walking at 8.25am from the romantically named junction 22 of the M5. We walked through Bridgewater and stopped at the Brewers Fayre for a quick coffee break before continuing on the A38 towards Taunton. Despite a few drops of rain the weather was oppressively hot and humid but we carried on regardless. Taunton itself turned out to be a bit of a challenge as the council had decided not to put up any road signs. However using our geographical prowess and the fire brigade's knowledge, we managed to escape the town centre. We finished walking at the south west corner of the town at 4.00pm having done 21 miles. The grand total is now 687 miles and we will exit Somerset tomorrow for our penultimate county, Devon. Tonight we are staying in the White Hart in Wiveliscombe where the heavens have just opened and Charlotte got soaked. Tomorrow we head on to Tiverton and then on Saturday to Bow which is just West of Crediton. Thanks for all your kind messages but please keep them coming, we really enjoy reading them. Nick & Mike
