From cider to cream teasOvernight we had more extremely heavy thunder storms which had thankfully cleared by early morning and we only got a bit wet as we started off at 8.30am. We headed west continuing on the A38 through the outskirts of Taunton, then passing through Wellington before stopping for a coffee break at Stanford. By this time, the sun had come out and conditions got hot and humid. We continued on and stopped for lunch at The Old Well Garden Centre near junction 27 of the M5. We then left the main roads and headed through the villages of Sampford Peverell and then Halberton. Both these villages were very picturesque with great views over towards Exmouth. We ended the day by walking past the Blundell School in Tiverton before stopping just south of the town. Both of us are now feeling the effects of 34 days of walking with various parts of our bodies threatening to give up (we'll leave you to decide which ones). We walked a total of 20 miles today and today's milestones were topping the 700 mile mark and entering Devon our penultimate county. Total mileage now stands at 707 and we estimate that we have 127 miles to go. Tomorrow we head through Crediton to the village of Bow and then onwards to Okehampton on Sunday. The weekend promises to be a busy one with a number of friends and relatives walking with us. Stay tuned for further bulletins. Nick & Mike
