One week and counting
Another busy day on the end-to-end trail. Today we were joined by a number of different visitors from around the country. Walking the whole distance from Tiverton to Bow (for those looking on your maps this is just west of Crediton) were Paul Simpson from Sutton, Mike's oldest friend from 1967, Rob Heydon from Woking, an equally old school friend of Nick's, Isobel Gillott and Bob Cheshire from CompAir. We headed out of Tiverton on the A396 following the river Exe down to Bickleigh. Today's route was the hilliest we have had for some time with lots of ups and downs along the way. We then headed on to Cadbury where Charlotte provided excellent hot bacon baguette's for the walkers. At this point we were joined by Robin, Sarah and Niamh (Mike's in-laws) who walked a few miles along the way with us. We then headed off to Crediton and stopped for lunch in the Wetherspoons pub where we were also joined by Alan & Barbara. From Crediton we headed up the A377 to Copplestone before branching off down the A3072 to Bow. Despite another day of hot and sticky weather, everyone made it to the ends in one piece. We all covered 20 miles for the day equalling the record set by the Villa girls. At the end of the walk we stopped in the Kings Head pub in Bow which we all felt was absolutely unique and has to be sampled if you are ever passing. Our total mileage is now up to 727 miles leaving us about 107 miles to go. Nick & Mike
