Half day closing

Having stayed the night at Fingle Glen Golf Club near Tedburn St Mary, we headed off from Bow at 8.55am.  Our intention over the last few days had been to walk further than our original plan so that we would only need to walk 10 miles today, a relatively short stroll through to Okehampton which took us 3 hours.  The weather was completely different to the forecast with clouds and rain instead of hot sunshine.

We have used our half day off for some well earned R&R and we went over to Parkham to have lunch with Nick's relatives at The Bell Inn.  It was great to meet up with Mike, Rachel, Jane, John et al to catch up on family news and to enjoy an excellent lunch together.  Thanks also to them for their very generous donations to the charity.  It was good to introduce Mike Sanders to another Mike Sanders and take plenty of photos of us all together.  We then headed to Croyde Bay for a cream tea (we dropped by Becca but you were out) and are now spending the evening planning for the next few days.

With today's 10 miles we have now covered 737 miles leaving approx 97 miles to go to the finish on Saturday.  Tomorrow we hit the A30 for the first time as we walk to Launceston and then on to Bodmin on Tuesday.  Retrospective thanks to Helen & Steve at Newcourt Barton Farm for their hospitality and generosity on Friday evening.
