The Beasts of Bodmin

After a great stay with Ginny at the Old Chapel House (thanks for your kind donation) we set off full of enthusiasm for our 39th day of walking.  Our start point was just east of Bodmin so after a short walk on the A30 we cut through the town and then rejoined the A30 at Lanivert.  We then walked on through increasing temperatures and what seemed like hills that were all upwards.  We stopped at Indian Queens for lunch.  Many thanks to Barney and staff at the Port & Starboard fish and chop restaurant for their kind donation.

Back on the road, the temperatures were rising and so were the gradients and the last stretch through Summercourt and up the hill to Carland Cross (aka Ernie's Windmills) seemed to take forever.  However having persevered, we completed the 21 miles planned for today bringing the total to 794 miles.  The temperatures are making it tough going at the moment and we hope for cooler weather over the next few days.  Only three more walking days to go and we are really looking forward to getting to the end.  We've had some great messages over the last few days which really help us on our way so please keep them coming.

Stay tuned for our next bulletin tomorrow.
