Heat Wave? You must be joking ...
Never believe what you see on the TV because there most certainly is not a heat wave on Cornwall at the moment. After having had mainly sunshine throughout our journey, today was a complete change and from the start the rain was torrential which made walking much more difficult and uncomfortable in fact despite wearing waterproof clothing, we were wet to the skin in less than 10 minutes. However, undeterred we set of from Carland Cross at 8.40am and headed down the very busy single carriageway A30 towards Camborne. After a couple of miles, Robert Barnes of Alchmey joined the trek. We left the A30 at Scorrier and headed towards Redrurth stopping for lunch on the way. By this time the rain had stopped and we walked on to Camborne past the old CompAir site in the centre of town. At this point, Robert left us (many thanks Robert for taking the time to join us) and we headed on to our finish back on the A30. Despite not being the best of days for walking, the total has now clocked up to 811 miles. Tomorrow sees us head on towards Penzance and meeting up with Nick's family before the final push on to Lands End on Saturday morning. We aim to start walking at around 9.30am and finish at about 12.30. Thanks for the many messages of kind support we have got over the last few days. Please keep them coming as we enter the last few days of our epic journey.
