Beer, Bra's and British Airways ...
After all our enthusiasm about the beautiful weather that greeted us on Tuesday and followed us for 45 miles, today's climate is exactly what we're used to in Britain. It started raining at approximately 6.30 last night and it hasn't stopped since. I know from many of you that the Midlands is no better and I'm guessing this means you've decided to stay indoors. However at lunchtime today I found two soaked walkers by the side of the A9, 10 miles from their day four destination. I didn't think that they could get any wetter but when they finished the day at 5.45 I'm told there was hardly a dry item of clothing between them!! Last night we spend our 2nd night at Navidale House and big thank you's go to Sue Walsh for her donation and to Mrs Clark and friend for their conversation and donation. Mrs Clark - I have tried to persuade them to jog a few miles but this has been met with much resistance.
Why the title of today's update? We'll, I've been trying to think of topics of conversation to keep them busy during their 7 hours a day walking. Yesterday we started the alphabet with Architecture and Agriculture and because they were both exhausted by 10.00am (the conversations not the walkers), I decided that today's topics needed to be a bit more interesting. So I gave them beer and bra's and somehow British Airways followed on. I've decided on this occasion, that question is best left unasked.
Once again, thank you for all your messages of support. They really, really do cheer the boys up and after a very long, very hard, very wet day, it's just what they need to see. Also any suggestions for conversation topics will be very well received. Lots of love to everyone at home xx
