Tornadoes & Apaches
Today the computer told us we would have to walk 23 miles I (Nick) said it wasn't that far but unfortunately I was proved wrong. We started walking at 9.00 am leaving behind the village of Dalwhinnie and following a Sustrans path (sorry Sarah) that was fantastic as we didn't have to dodge the trucks on the A9. Two Apache attack helicopters passed us at the same height down the Glen and on their return journey tipped their wings to the two ‘fit athlete's' strutting their way down the Sustrans. Later on, four Tournadoes screamed overhead which brought out the plane spotter in both of us. We then left the track and saw a herd of 16 wild deer reminding me (Nick ) of my meal last night at Blasta Restaurant in Newtonmore. Many thanks to the lovely Shirley from me (Mike) for a fantastic meal x. Also a big thanks to Dougie & Joanna at Craigerne Hotel for their hospitality and donation. I (Mike) look forward to doing business with you. We made it Tummel Bridge just after 5pm with extremely sore feet and knees. My (Mike) podgy feet are now even podgier. We have now racked up 200 miles which is a great milestone to achieve before we take the weekend off. Today's topic's of discussion included; geraniums, giraffes and geology. We are now looking forward to our well earned rest over the weekend back home and will resume our blogging from Monday evening.
